Who is responsible#

The controller for this website is AVS Media, Federico Fellinistraat 102, 6515 LV Nijmegen, Netherlands, hello@avs-media.com.

What this website collects#

Only what you hand over deliberately in a form, plus the IP address and browser user-agent text the waitlist form stores with a request (see below). There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising script and no social media plug-in. Fonts, images and animations are served from this website itself, not from a font or video service.

The waitlist form#

The request-access form sends the email address you type, the language of this page, the app you ask about and, if you choose one, what you will use it for, to our access list. With each request the list also stores your IP address and your browser's user-agent text.

We use the email address and your answers only to answer your request and to let you in (legal basis: steps at your request before an agreement, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The IP address and user-agent text are used only to hold back spam and abuse, for example the limit of five requests in ten minutes from one address (legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the list and other people's inboxes safe, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Nothing is shared with advertisers.

A request, with the IP address and user-agent text stored with it and the messages we sent about it, stays on the list until you ask us to delete it, by writing to the address above. Being let in does not delete it: the request is only marked as approved. There is no automatic deletion today.

The list is run by AVS Media on Convex, Inc., our processor, and the form is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., also our processor. Both are companies in the United States, so your data can be processed there; the transfer rests on the standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Contact and feature-request forms#

If you use these forms, what you type is used to answer you or to decide what to build. Your email address is optional. Where this website is not connected to a message service, the form opens your email program with the text ready, and nothing is sent until you send it. When it is connected, your message goes to a service run by AVS Media on Cloudflare, and your email address is stored only if you tick the box that allows it.

Search and ask#

Searching this website runs in your browser against an index that was built together with the website. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. If the ask box is connected to our assistant service, the question you ask is sent to that service so it can answer from this website’s own pages. The page tells you when that is the case.

Hosting and server logs#

This website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. as our processor. To deliver a page Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address and technical request data (time, page, browser) and may keep them briefly in security logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and local storage#

This website sets one small functional cookie, site_accent, and mirrors it in your browser's local storage. It remembers the colour of the site for you today, so every page looks the same during that day. It holds no personal data, is not used for tracking and expires at the next midnight in your time zone. The session storage of the browser may hold a random identifier for the ask and contact forms; it is deleted when you close the tab.

Your rights#

Under the GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. Email us and you get an answer within one month. You may also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or the authority where you live.

The product itself#

Geenius App is not open to the public yet. When it opens, the app has its own privacy statement and terms, shown when you are invited, and this page will say so.
